Summer Camp 2024 - Ingersoll Scout Reservation
Getting to Camp
Our third year attending Summer Camp and we rocked it. From pre-travel emails from our SPL, to parent/scout trainings and custom-made maps and schedules from Troop leadership, we were the most prepared we have ever been. Hard to believe that we have come from being almost a Troop (sharing a site with an established Troop in 2022) to having a full Troop of our own and even girls serving as camp staff trainees!
Upon arrival at our departure point, scouts received any camp shirts they preordered and gathered for photos before hitting the road.
We were scheduled to arrive before the camp would open, so we had time to stop by the gas station and grab some fun treats for our sack lunch that day.
As soon as we arrived, we were wisked away for a smooth check-in and swim checks.
We were ready for some serious fun.
Setting-up Camp
This was our first time staying in the platform tents at Ingersoll. The girls definitely had mixed feelings about it. A few decided to pitch a tent and one even was brave enough to try hammock camping.
One memory that will not soon be forgotten is Mr. Blumenberg showing us how to set up our tents and the proper technique for rolling the flaps to keep off the rain.
Our favorite part was the of why we shouldn't worry about any snakes, afterall, they keep the mice away! Nervous laughter all around

Paul Bunyan Outpost
We were lucky to start our camp week off with one of our favorite Outposts, Paul Bunyan! The girls got up extra early and headed to the north side of camp for some delicious pancakes and sausage from Paul Bunyan's crew. A rousing game of loggerball, some ax throwing and good branding got us good and hungry. Thanks to the staff for great start to camp!

Tie-Dying Camp Shirts
Afternoons at camp mean fun with your Troop.
Today we hung out with two of our favorite staff members and had the opportunity to make some unique camp T-shirts. While we didn't get a photo of the final products, we have heard that girls love them!
Order of the Arrow Callout Ceremony
One of our favorite Family Night traditions is the time of the evening when we surprise our hardest working scouts with the opportunity to become a member of the Scouting's honor society, the Order of the Arrow. To be eligible, scouts must show dedication, skill, and a cheerful heart for service.
Congratulations to Ella and Victoria for your nominations. We look forward to seeing you complete your next step at Fall Fellowship!
Staying Cool
Scouts are just different. We know how to have fun during any type of weather. When the days get hot, we find create ways for everyone to cool off.
The DIY dunk tank was a huge "hit"!
