Eagle Cave Campout
Cave Exploration Like Never Before!
Are you ready to venture into the depths of the earth and uncover hidden wonders? Join us for a thrilling cave exploration trip like no other in Wisconsin’s largest onyx cave as we will be exploring its approximate 3000 ft. of passages . . . crawling over, under, and through the rock and mud!
Whether you’re an experienced spelunker or a first-time explorer, this trip promises an unforgettable experience. We will explore stunning underground landscapes featuring ancient formations, eerie passageways, and breathtaking chambers. We can't wait to explore the mysteries beneath the surface with you!
This is a unique experience most scouts have not had before!
Itinerary
FRIDAY, FEB 21
5:00 PM Meet at the church; bring a sack supper
5:15 PM Depart church
We will have one 15-minute rest stop on the way. It is a 4-hour drive.
9:30 pm Check-in time
SATURDAY, FEB 22
Breakfast: Time TBA after check-in
Provided by the Eagle Cave Staff. Line up outside the main lodge 5 minutes before your shift and we all go in together. Do not be late.
10:00 AM Morning Optional Activities
Golden Nugget Trail Competition: There will be one prize for the girl and one prize for the boy with the most nuggets found. Ask your SPL for details
Lunch: Time TBA after check-in
Provided by the Eagle Cave Staff. Line up outside the main lodge 5 minutes before your shift and we all go in together. Do not be late!
2:00 PM Afternoon Optional Activities
The lodge will be open for games as well as outdoor activities as announced by your SPL.

7:30 PM Evening Optional Activities
Games, prizes and recognition, outdoor campfire, and night hike
11:00 PM Quiet Time

7:00 AM Wake up, pack up belongings, and eat breakfast
9:00 AM Depart for home

1:15 PM Arrive back at the church

Packing List
Please make sure every single item is clearly labeled with your name. Keep valuables at home.
Class A uniform, worn while traveling to and from the campout
4 sets of old clothes (2 for each day, packed individually in zip lock bags because sometimes the clay does not wash out if your scout really likes to explore)
Sleeping bag/ pillow packed in a large trash bag
Tarp or waterproof ground cloth
2 pairs of closed-toed shoes (waterproof preferred)
Water bottle
Mess kit (plate, cup, and utensils)
Rain gear (be prepared)
Headlamp (recommended) and/or flashlight
Compass
Scoutbook/waterproof bag
2 old towels
Money for snacks, souvenirs, or the gaming room. Put it in an envelope with your name on it. Keep it safe and dry.
Nice to Bring:
Ear plugs
Dry bag or extra trash bags
Old snow pants
bike helmet, knee pads,
Battery pack for phones or medical equipment (there are no outlets in the cave)
